Golden Boy Boxing returns to Fantasy Springs Casino on December 14, 2023, and so does Walter “Wacho” Santibanes (12(2 KOs)-2-0). The 32 year old Phoenix fighter was last brought in on June 8th to face local favorite, and up to then undefeated, Manny “Gucci” Flores. Gucci Manny, a Coachella resident with a hometown crowd behind him, was fighting out of the promoter’s corner and came into the ring at 15-0-0. Flores stepped out of the ring with a knotch in the loss column, after Wacho put on a dominating performance and was granted a unanimous decision to earn an upset win. Flores has since rebounded with a KO win at Fantasy Springs in September.
This time, Santibanes will face Jose “Tito” Sanchez (11(7 KOs) 0-0). at Fantasy Springs Casino, which will close out the year for Golden Boy Promotions. Sanchez, like Flores, will also be fighting out of the “A” corner and is a Coachella Valley resident. Sanchez, 27 years old, was born in Rancko Mirage and currently living in Cathdral City. He is coming off a TKO win in Puerto Rico just this last July and this will be his third fight of 2023. If Santibanes’ last fight is any indication of what he plans to bring to the ring in December, this can prove to be an entertaining and competetive bout. Will Wacho hand Sanchez his first loss as he did to Flores, or will Sanchez send him back to Phoenix with his third loss of his career?
